John Grayson 1804
« on: Thursday 03 September 09 08:27 UTC (UK) »

At Northampton Assizes on 9th March 1829, John Grayson was  convicted of felony and sentenced to death. The sentence was then  commuted to transportation for life. John had an alias name of William  Butterworth (as he started to call himself) and that is the name that  appears on the convict list. John was convict no. 1297 and departed  London on 18 Dec 1829 on the "Mary". The journey took 113 days and  the ship docked at Hobart in Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania) on 10  April 1830. .

Is there anyway of finding out the paperwork for this.

Thanks
