Do you get 'distracted' in your research by what is portrayed in the media?
« on: Thursday 03 September 09 13:14 UTC (UK) »

With all the media interest in the anniversary of the start of WW2, it got me thinking, and I've started looking into a couple of areas of family history that I had put on the back burner, directly related to wartime events.

Am I the only one who is so easily distracted/led by the media? I was looking into another area of my family entirely!!

I've also noticed more WW2 threads on here in the past week or so.

Or am I imagining it and just noticing the WW2 threads more?

I think it's because of the anniversary of the start of the war - early September.

I think you can be distracted from the main course of enquiry by lots of things......I certainly am!  Smiley

Never mind Roger - you'll catch up eventually  Cheesy

I don't read newspapers and hardly ever watch the news (it's amazing how little it seems to matter!), but I do get distracted by all sorts of things.

Consequently, my family tree is very broad but not very tall.  Come to think of it, that sounds a lot like me   Cheesy Cheesy
