Help finding rellie on 1841+ possibly 1851 census
« on: Thursday 03 September 09 14:22 UTC (UK) »

hi,

can anyone help find my rellie William Matty on 1841 + 1851 census.

I know nearly all the available family info either side of him but would like to find his possible census recordings.

he was baptised in Deerhurst in 1775 and lived there until his death in 1851.

so he would be around 66yrs in 1841 + 76yrs in 1851.(pending on him being christened close to birth)

his wife was Alice Hobbs who died in 1817 and he had 5 children:
Mary ch1798
Joseph b1800 d1884
Elizabeth ch1802
William ch1806 d1831
Ann ch1814

thanks

thanks Springbok, Suzard and Past Master

Brilliant! so quick too! great response Smiley

I suspected that he might have re-married, as he lived a good few years after his 1st wife's death.

I've looked thru the 9 pages of District 6 (Apperley) in 1841, and neither he nor Patience can be seen.

Interestingly there are 5 blank lines at the top of the first page, ending in a '//', so there was a Household there .....

William did have a brother James ch1782 Deerhurst, maybe a son of his in 1841? so it is quite possibly a rellie Suzard Smiley

strange that there is a blank household, was this normal? perhaps they were just all busy at the time, but knowing my luck it is them Cheesy
