well, I can find them in 1871
Lower Mill Cottage, Aberedw RG10/5574 folio 60 pg 1 John Davies head mar 33 ag lab b. Herefordshire, Bodenham Eliza wife 24 b. Aberedw William son 3 b. Aberedw Thomas son 1 b. Aberedw Louisa Evans lodger unm 33 pauper/independent minister's daughter b. Cwmtider Louisa Evans lodger 7 months independent minister's grand daughter b. Aberedw
and this looks like their marriage John Davies march qtr 1867 Builth vol 11b pg 131 with Eliza Havard on the same page
1851 Aberedw HO107/2488 folio 214 pg 16 Ann Havard head unm 40 b. Radnorshire, Llandilo Ann dau 6 b. Aberedw Eliza dau 3 b. Aberedw
1861 has a possible for Eliza as Elizabeth, a servant in White House, Aberedw where the family was living in 1881.
More than one John Davies from Bodenham around. Possible from 1841 Rowbuary, Whitchurch Maund, Bodenham HO107/418/5 folio 3 pg 12 Elizabeth Davies 40 ag lab George 15 Maryann 13 Hannah 11 William 8 John 5 Eliza 3 James 1 // William Davies 23 male servant
Can't see a baptism for John in the IGI batch for Bodenham J137032, but there are baptisms for George, James, Mary Anne & Hannah to parents Thomas & Elizabeth.
Possible for this John as a farm servant in Bodenham in 1851 and possible as a carter at Hergest Court in 1861 - comes under Radnorshire on the census, but is in Herefordshire just about.
