Whaley Deaths 1837 to 1848
« on: Friday 04 September 09 01:30 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to identify a Whaley who died between 1837 and 1848 in Cambridgeshire who may have married Mary Ann Scott.  (See my post under Cambridgeshire which should be in this forum)

BMD lists 5 male Whaley deaths in this time period.  Three of them I have identified as known relatives.  There are two I can't identify:

Janes (James?) Whaley Mar qtr 1846, Wisbech, Vol 14, Page 101

Tom Whaley Sep qtr 1846, St Ives, Vol 14, Page 170

Could someone tell me if either of these are candidates for marrying Mary Ann and provide any info available on them?

Thanks, George

IF Mary Ann Whaley, mother of John born 1844, was a widow as opposed to an unmarried mother, then surely deaths of male Whaleys after August 1844 can be discounted?

Edit: But see the other thread at http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,404171.0.html

Mary Ann Scott appears to have been born illegitimately as Mary Ann Whaley, so they're one and the same person.
