As a young person doing Duke of Edinburgh Award, I used to help out at the Taylor Memorial Home (as it was called) in Grange Rd Erdington, it was alovely place. It was also used for women who had difficult births to recuperate. We used to take the Brownies and Guides there to sign carols at Christmas etc. Forgot all about that  place now far away in NZ
