George William Taylor
« on: Saturday 05 September 09 20:56 UTC (UK) »

George William Taylor was born in 1890 in Tunbridge Wells. His parents were George and Emily. I found him on the 1891 census with George and Emily. Emily died in 1892. In the 1901 census William George Taylor is living with his grandmother Elizabeth Jeffery who was Emilys mother. His name seems to be the other way round. After this I can't seem to find Goerge anywhere. Can anyone help me please. Poppyann

GW taylor would be a popular name.

Where was granny in 1901 (age, birthplace) & 1911 as a start.

Hi Poppy
Have found your George  William living at 16 Park Street T/Wells with Mum and Dad.
ANNIE age 26 Bn T/Wells Kent and George age 32 Gen Labourer Bn Pembury Kent. on the1891 census
Widowed Mother in Law, Elizabeth Jeffery age 52 Bn Seal Kent and her Daughter Elizabeth bn T/Wells age24 living along the road at Number 20 Park Street

Then found, as you said WG/GW Taylor with Gran and Aunty at 20, Park Street on the 1901 census.

I could not find any ref to dad George  Bn Pembury in later censii. but there are 8 George Taylor deaths alone registered in Ton/Tunbridge between the 91 /01 censii. So what or where he was is anyones guess.
He is not at 16 Park Street there is a new family there in 1901.

There is a Marriage for George and Annie - Dec Qtr. 1889. Tonbridge 2A 1165.

A death for Annie Taylor Mar Qtr 1892 Tunbridge 2A 584.

Moving on to the 1911 census there are 2 possibles for GW/WG Taylor resident in Kent I think the Milton one is the most likely but you will need credits to authenticate things on that census. There are a further 10 GW/WG Taylors across England that could be him.
                 Good Luck with your Quest,
Regards Rog. (PS assume Emily is a typo error!)

Thanks for your help Pauline and Rog. it is very much appreciated. Yes Rog Emily was a typo error. My George died in 1915 in East Peckham. I couldn't find George senior on the 1901 census, but did find his wife Clara and their son Walter. Regards Poppyann
