born South Church / Southend, married to Phoebe, brother Robert?

Do you want to find his parents back in 1841 or go further forward in the census years  Smiley

Married after the 1851 ?

Marriages Sep 1851

Hornsby  Phebe    Rochford  vol 12 page 301
Hornsby  Phoebe      Rochford  12 301
Page  Sarah Ann     Rochford  12 301
Perkins  George     Rochford  12 301
Ritchie  Henry     Rochford  12 301
West  Truth     Rochford  12 301
White  Charlotte     Rochford  12 301
Williams  Richard Gould     Rochford  12 301
Wood  William      Rochford  12 301

If correct marriage, obtaining the Cert would reveal William's Father's name....

Doh ! just noticed that he does have middle initial 'P' on the 1861 - so ackshirley, this one may be better?

Marriages Jun 1846

Clark  Joseph    Rochford  vol 12 page 309
Green  Lucy Clayton     Rochford  12 309
Lilley  Phoebe      Rochford  12 309
WOODS  William Pepperell      Rochford  12 309

and seeing the kids registered with surname Woods in Rochford District negates the other marriage totally  Embarrassed

struggling to find Ms Hornsby in 1841 - wondered if she was previously married and brought the kids seen in 1851 to the marriage ?

Altho the 2nd marriage I saw above may negate that  Smiley

There are a very few candidate Phebes / Phoebes in Prittlewell in 1841 ....

need to look for Ms Lilley now  Embarrassed

The only lass I can find in Essex - transcribed PHABE - is in Great Baddow - parents John & Elizabeth Lilley.

Getting that Marriage Cert would check it ...
