the address was 342 archway rd islington and going by the thread I saw on another site it appears to be a sanatorium as the people mentioned died of tuberculosis. Looking at histories of the Whittington Hospital reveals that they had a site in the Archway Road but I'm still searching for a name or more info. . . .

Yes, Archway House was a hospital, not only for TB, I had a greatgrandmother die there is 1925 of Arterial Sclerosis (hardening of the arterires).

It may be possible to find some archive material for the Whittington Hosp. if you wish to follow up any info for your grtgran.

Archway House was the form of words used on birth and death certificates for people who were born or died in Holborn Union Infirmary, later known as Holborn and Finsbury Hospital and subsequently the Archway Wing of Whittingham Hospital.

From the early 1900s registrars were required to disguise the address of a workhouse by making it appear more like an ordinary address
