Atherstone Marriage

Hello

Please could someone look up a marriage for me. It is between John Baxter and Ann. Their first child was born in 1860 so it could possibly be sometime around then.

i can only find one john baxter marriage in atherstone in 1860 and he married harriet atkins
there are only 4 john baxter marriages in atherstone between 1850-1870
the only one anywhere near 1860 is the one above.

I originally thought he would marry in Ibstock, Leics and originally posted on the Leics page but someone told me to post on Atherstone as they found a marriage there.

So it doesn't look like it was Atherstone then.

Are the family living in Ratcliffe on Soar in 1861, with Ann born Ratcliffe on Soar?

Free BMD has a possible marriage in Shardlow district covering Ratcliffe on Soar:

John Baxter to possibly Ann Moore Mar 1859 7b 473

(and there was an Ann Moore born ca. 1833 Ratcliffe on previous censuses)

Have you ruled this out, or am I looking at the wrong family entirely?

Thanks for looking. The family were living in Ibstock, Leics in 1861 with John, Ann, and their son John Newbold Baxter. John Snr was a watchmaker.

there is this possibility right county and about the right time if the son aged 1 is their first child.

there is an ann price aged 4 on the 1841 in ibstock states born in county
HO107/601/10/9/9.
she also appears on the 1851 still in ibstock aged 14 states born in ibstock. living with parents thomas/ann
HO107/2083/427/29
there is however another ann price aged 14 at this time in ibstock also states born in ibstock living in the household of wilcox/mary james. occ. house servant.
HO107/2083/424/23.
will need to check 1861 to see if the servant one or the one with parents is still there

unfortunately neither of them are there so john baxter could have married either one
think you need the birth cert of their son john.n.baxter you would then know for sure the mothers maiden name
if it is price then need the marr cert to find out if her fathers name was thomas if it is then the census of 1841,1851 is the right one
