Help Needed ( Harvey- Kennard)
« on: Wednesday 09 September 09 12:50 UTC (UK) »

Hello,

I wonder if anyone can help......
I am doing a such for a really lovely lady who is looking for her great grandmother and great auntie who are supposedly buried in Northampton.
I have searched the records to the 7 municipal cemeteries in Northampton and have found nothing. I am thinking maybe she was buried in a churchyard as the crematorium was not built yet???
Sarah Harvey died 20th January 1926 - died in Northampton
Lucy Kennard (nee Harvey) died 1927 also in Northampton.

I am welcoming all suggestions on how I go about finding the information, I have looked on ancestry also but could find no records!!!

Once again thank you for any help offered.

Kind Regards,

Jo

HI Jo/Heather.

Heather your link works fine.  Smiley

If we were doing family history Jo it would have been easier.  Smiley

Lucy Victoria Harvey was born 1876-77 in Lincs.

She married Arthur W Kennard born 1862 as stated above.

On the 1901 census both families were living in Allen Road.

Arthur had a wife and son noted and Sarah was a widow.

I was hoping to find either the husband or wife dying and then
hopefully we could find the graves if buried in same plots.

The nearest churches with churchyard's would have been
Abington and Weston Favell.

I know they are not noted in the Burials for Abington as I
have copies.

Going the other side of the town you have St Michaels and All Angels
and St Edmunds.

I think maybe Jo if you or the person you are trying to help has time,
go into the Central Library and ask in the Local Studies if you can look
at the Momunental Inscriptions of Parish Churches.

The Northamptonshire Family History Society have transcribed quite
a few Churches in the town or look at the Parish Records on Micro Fiche.

Obviously this is very time consuming.

Other than that hopeful someone else can suggest a better way.

Take Care

Sandy

Hello Sandy,

Thank you for that, it was just a lady sent me a letter asking to chech the records as she lives in london.
I have done that but I think some of her information has got to be wrong as I checked births and deaths and could not find anything there either.
Sarah's husband died in Syston Leicester in 1888 but she was not buried with him and moved to Northampton and lived at 25 Allen Road but apart from that I have nothing. Nothing matches up with the details this lady has given me.

Never mind thank you

Kind Regards,

Jo
