I was wondering if you can look up the following marriages in Dover to see if there is any more information on this Lancey family.  I can't seem to get beyond these two Lancey ancestors.

Hello Diane,

I am afraid that I can shed no more light on these 2 ladies, other than to confirm your dates!  I did however notice that in some cases the spelling was slightly different so I did a search on ALL spellings, and all parishes that I have and attach these for you to peruse - just in case your rellies moved about a bit - none of the parishes are a very long way from each other, and I suppose it might depend on where the work was?! Anyway, here is what I have found - most of it may not be what you are looking for - but it may be of some help!

Hi Yvonne,

Thank you so much for talking the time to do the search on variations of the  Lancey name in the area.  I know the two sisters lived in Dover after marrying and had children christened in St. Mary the Virgin in Dover, but I just can't seem to find anything on where the Lancey's are from.  Some believe the Lanceys were French Huguenots (French Protestants) who fled France after the revocation of the Edit of Nantes around 1725.  I guess that seems quite possible -- Dover is a port city.
