BOLTON family

Hi can you help me?  I am not sure where to start with my search.   I am researching the Bolton Family who came from Whitstable,  Kent.   I am looking for information on Joseph Bolton born c. 1833 and his wife Jane Bolton b. Gillespie c.1834 they married in c.1853.   They had a few children and one of them was Annie Bolton born 31 Dec 1864.  Annie was my g/grandmother.  She left England to South AFrica in approximately 1882 I do not know if anyone else went with her.  I have looked at census records for the area and they seem to have the family living at 9 Victoria Str Whitstable, but I am not sure if this is correct.  I would appreciate any help and information about this family and history of them in the area.  Thank you Helen

BOLTON Joseph (f/a) Mariner (Ba) of otp (S of) George (Labourer)
GILLESPIE Jane Ann (Minor) (Sp) of otp (D of) Robert (Labourer)
Witnessed by: Joseph Bolton, Elizabeth Bolton

Not sure if this is what/who you are looking for?  - No sign of Annie though.
