1901 Census Look Up Please
« on: Wednesday 09 September 09 20:55 UTC (UK) »

Hello.
Just wondering if anyone has the 1901 census of Sheffield.
Might help me with the dates the Wasnidge's died.
William Hunt should be 44, bricklayer, Emma Hunt 37, Joseph H Hunt 13, Henry Wasnidge, father in law, 69, and Jane Wasnidge, mother in law, 71.
They are probably in Sheffield.
Thanks.
Darren.

Hi little h,  Smiley

Always go by what you see on the actual return, we have to ignore the transcript, I think this might be Henry, see what you think ??

RG13/4415, Folio 77, Page 9.

No death for Jane though, as far as I can find at the moment ??

I'm sorry Darren, I didn't see your reply last night for some reason. This is the man I was referring to .. but for some reason I'm not sure it's him. Although I'm unable to find him before 1901. The occupation has thrown me ??

1901 census:
RG13/4415, Folio 77, Page 9.

Yorkshire, Cantley
Branton

Henry Wasnedge, h. wdr, 68, Farmer 8 Pig Dealer, b. Yorks, Sheffield
Emily J Hayle, serv, unm, 24, HouseKeeper Domestic, b. Cantley
Caroline Hayle, boarder, 3, b. Blaxtan

See what you think anyway !!  Smiley

Kind regards,

Pels.

Burial in St Philip's Parish (Wardsend Cemetery), Sheffield:
WASNIDGE Henry 30 Mar 1892   76 Langden St    60y

There is also this MI. I'm not sure if this is the same Henry as it lists two wives, neither of which is Jane. But both died young, so he could have married a third time!?...

Wardsend Cemetery Grave K81
Elizabeth wife of Henry WASNIDGE died 23rd March 1858 aged 23 years
also Ellen wife of the above died 23rd March 1871 aged 29 years
also Charles Rowland died 20th September 1870 aged 1 year 7 weeks
also Kate died 13th February 1872 aged 1 year 2 weeks children of
Henry and Ellen WASNIDGE

I probably have a photo of this gravestone,  but it is on a computer which is being upgraded at this moment  Smiley

I think this is him.
Jane Nicholson, nee Blake married Henry Wasnidge 1876.
Looks like Jane Wasnidge died after this date.
Is hard to find when Jane died.
Thanks for the help.
