Jane Ann(e) Griffiths LOOK UP NEEDED
« on: Wednesday 09 September 09 21:11 UTC (UK) »

Need a look up please for Jane Ann(e) Griffiths. born 1890 Dolwyddelan and living 1891 at 6 Gilbert St., Holyhead but by 1892 she had died.

I assume she was buried in Holyhead but am asking if someone can find out if she is and if there is a headstone or MI?  Not sure which cemetery if so but family generally Methodists.

She was daughter of William Griffiths and Catherine (Kate) Roberts, my great grand parents.

regards Gareth

Gareth I don't have access to burial records but the majority of burials in Holyhead are in Maeshyfryd Cemetery.
You could phone the Town Clerk on 01407-764608 and they would do a search for you for a fee, I believe it's quite expensive.

I visit Holyhead a couple of times a year as I have family there, I know Gilbert Street, just off London Road,  it is very near the Port.

Hopefully someone on here may live locally and look for it for you.
Good Luck.

Many thanks, I will phone them this week.  The towns website states the search fee has just increased to £25 from £15 that's quite a leap, wonder why?

My father is going to Holyhead soon so he says he will take me a photo of 6 Gibert St for future reference, it looks like it will be a terraced house from looking at property for sale on other sites.

Thanks for your comments.
regards Gareth

If your father is going to Holyhead it may be worth him having a word with the men who work in the grave yard they are a mine of information and usually quite helpful, or the local funeral director John Walsh who may have family records to hand, worth a try before paying a Hefty sum for a search to the council.

There are also burial Archives in Llangefni registry office.
