We are descended from William and Maria Beams (nee Whitmarsh), from Ludgershall, Wiltshire. He was a carrier. They appeared to have had a number of children, of which we would like to know more. Their son, Thomas Hervey Beams, a baker (where does the Hervey connection come from?), born 14 November 1839, married Elizabeth Poole (born c. 1841), at St. Martin the Fields, London on 14 August 1864.
Can anyone help fill out the family tree as far as Thomas Hervey Beams generation please?

Thanks very much for your information, which has brought up some very interesting questions.
We have the birth certificate of Thomas Hervey Beams, b. 14. 11. 1839. He is my g.g.g.grandfather. His parents were William, the carrier and Maria Beams, nee Whitmarsh, according to his certificate. This means that the Ann Beams referred to on the 1851 census must have been a second wife. Judging from the gap between George and Sarah, it seems possible that the boys are Maria's and the boys are Ann's.
The families you have given us has helped a lot in sorting out the various Beams in Ludgershall.
Have you any idea of the relationships between the final family and the name of Jane's husband?It would appear that she is living with her son John, his wife Elizabeth and Elizabeth's mother.
