Oxton Newspaper
« on: Thursday 10 September 09 22:55 UTC (UK) »

Hi everyone, im just following the trail of an ancestor who died aged just 28 in 1838. I thought i may be able to find him in the local press advertising his services as a blacksmith. Does anyone know if Oxton had a newspaper in or around the 1830's and if so, any idea were copies or microfilms may be held?
Thanks for you help,
luke

Luke, I can't help with the newspapers, but I am sure someone will.
Have you tried the Trade Directories
The following links should help

Oxton would have only been a small village in the 1838 period and I doubt whether there would have been a newspaper in that area other than the Liverpool Mercury...this being across the Mersey from Oxton...try
