Many thanks for this, I have looked through the UK site and clicked on "Books" and saw his name on so many publications, I think most of them are the other Mortimer.
I do know now that the other one had a daughter named Emily and he was also in Wrexham.
The Lavinia Riley one is mine and so is the Clack marriage and I am aware of them.
You get into sites I do not have any idea of, I usually just google a name and see if I get anything out of it.
Many thanks

Celia,
Yes this is my Mortimer, he did marry Lavinia Riley. I am curious about the MA, as far as I knew he had a BA which he achieved in 1850 and about which I was kindly sent the info yesterday.
The Welsh lot were also his in that his father was also Mortimer Maurice and he was a son of Joseph Maurice and Elizabeth Gillam, who appear to have been born and married (and worked) in Bristol but they both were buried in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, which gives a big clue that they originated from there. There did seem to be a lot of Maurice's in Pembrokeshire.
I am looking into just when he was a curate at the Trinity Church Hotwells, as he married Lavinia at St. Andrews Church in Clifton, Bristol.
I know he was also a vicar at Crantock in Cornwall and also at St. Bude's Lewisham where they lived at Peak Hill Gardens.
many thanks for your reply

Hi Celia
It's good to hear he has gone to a good home. Having two Mortimer Maurice's has been very confusing - all that I thought my one had done was done by the other one.
Thanks Celia
