Hi,
I am researching my GGG Grandfather Joseph Walker lived in Litle Leigh, Cheshire. Married Sarah Massey. He was licensee of the Horns Inn 1828-1834. I have his children Peter(my GG grandfather), Thomas, Samuel & Caherine. He married Sarah 20 December 1827. I think his parents are Margaret and Thomas. Unfortunately I have no other info.
Can anyone help please?

Hi there,
Not sure whether he was born Little Leigh or Great Budworth. I think it may be Great Budworth

Hi, alijet, I found this possibility on the IGI Batch number P009511 Little Leigh Joseph Walker father Thomas Walker mother Margaret Born: 14th June 1797 Christened: 3rd September 1797 There is also a list of his siblings. If you don't know how to bring up the siblings let me know and I will post the instructions for you to find them. Regards Kathb

Hello Kathb,
Please don't think me stupid here, probably going to sound it though and so apologise in advance. I have previously checked the IGI with no success. Got excited when I saw your message, looked again and he still isn't coming up, although, this is definitely my GGG grandfather. Can you give me a step by step guide how you got to him. My apologies again.
Regards
Alison

Hi Kathb,
I've just tried IGI again and it has come up this time, so THANK YOU sooooo much for this, really appreciated. you said you would advise me how to find his children on the site. I think I have them all but it would be good to double check, so please yes send me details. Again a massive thank you.
Regards
Alison

Hi, Alison I thought I had posted this reply but it doesn't seem to have come up as yet so here we go again. Don't apologise it took me a while to figure out the IGI When you log on you need to choose the advanced search under the name, date box etc. Then on the next page click on International Genealogical Index Then enter the details of the person, choose British Isles in the Region Box and then England in the next with Cheshire next. Once you have entered the required details the page that comes up will have a batch number at the bottom. Click on the batch number and it will take you back to the previous page. Clear the information and enter the last name you are looking for with parents Thomas and Margaret. When you then search again it will bring up all of the children with the parents Thomas and Margaret. Just a note of caution with the IGI if the record states that it is from a form submitted then it is not necessarily from the Parish Register and can be a guess by someone and not verified. Those that say extracted record are from the Parish Registers. You can also do the same kind of search on marriages by entering the batch number and then looking for all of the marriages in the period that you will see stated from the batch number. Very useful when looking for the same family in the same church. Good Hunting Regards Kathb

Hi Alison,
Just noticed the reference to Little Leigh.
If you go here: http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start
and enter Joseph Walker 1796 - 1798 with location Cheshire you will be able to see the digital image for Little Leigh - judging by the various chapelries I suspect this is the Bishop Transcripts for chapelries of Great Budworth, but not sure. Doesn't give any further information but its nice to have a secondary source.
