There do not seem to be any people called HARCUS but there are a few HERCUS entries (remember ages were rounded down to the nearest 5).

HERCUS Alexander, 25, Cabinet Maker, born Fife
The above household is next door to a Thomas DEALLY family (see my other post).

I see that the IGI has an extracted entry for a Thomas HARCUS marrying a Christian PORTER, 11 Jan 1820 in Burntisland.  Also birth of Helen to them, 18 Sep 1822.
