Hi Jaz

Good to see someone searching for my extended family!! Ann Bailey was baptised at Charlton st Peter as Ann Clements 11 Nov 1798. Ann was sister of John Clements my 3 x Great Grandfather. Joshua Clements living with Ann in 1851 was John's eldest son, brother to my 2 x Great Grandfather Josiah.

If you use the genes web site, I have the family on a family tree there. If you don't have the info already, Francis died 24 Nov 1914, his wife Susanna nee Howell 17 May 1908, both at Charlton (there were from a relation, if incorrect, please let me know)

I was  just about to post  this info

there is an individual record on family search
Jonas bailey c 28 April 1822 St Peters Charlton
buried 26 dec 1891 manningford
father Isaac bailey
mother Ann Clements

this is submitted information -so has to be treated with caution - but I did notice on most of the census there was a Clements family living nearby

no mention of Francis though

These were very kindly looked up by Dave on Rootschat from the parish records, they might help.

•   Marriage  20 Feb 1883 Isaac Bailey, 25, bach, carter, otp, Jonas Bailey, lab and Eliza Bailey, 22, spin, otp, Francis Bailey, lab, witnesses James Bailey and Ellen Bailey.   Witnesses were possibly Eliza's brother and sister - James baptised 25 Dec 1862 and Ellen baptised 29 May 1864.

Isaac Bailey baptised 7 Mar 1858 son of Jonas and Jane
Eliza Bailey baptised 17 Feb 1861 dau of Francis and Susan (1881 census says Susannah)

Possible baptism for Francis Bailey ? Apr 1836 son of Isaac and Ann (unable to read date)
No baptism for Jonas Bailey but POSSIBLY 28 Apr 1822 son of Isaac and Ann (name could easily have been James Bailey)

Dates of baptisms for other siblings for Eliza Bailey not shown in 1881 census.....

3  Feb 1856 Leah Miriam dau of Francis and Susan
27 Sep 1857 Isaac son of francis and Susan
24 Jul 1859 Ann dau of Francis and Susan
29 May 1864 Ellen dau of francis and Susan

Lots of other Baileys in Charlton St Peter.   Let me know if you want more.
Isaac and Eliza could have been first cousins but by the same token the evidence is by no means certain.

•   If you don't have them already here are the other baptisms of children of Francis and Susan

28 Dec 1862 - James.       24 Dec 1865 - Elizabeth.      31 May 1868 - Albert
25 Dec 1870 - Andrew      30 Apr 1873 - Mary Anne

Baptisms of other children of Jonas and Jane

5 Oct 1851 - Elizabeth, John and Jonas (job lot)      4 Jan 1852 - George
4 Feb 1856 - Thomas     23 Mar 1856 - Frank

Hi Jaz,

Just found this site. I see you are looking for details about Francis Bailey (1836) and Susanna Howell ((1834). They were my G/G/Grandparents. What information are you looking for, perhaps I can help.
