I am researchng info on the family of THOMAS HORACE ELLIOTTof Adderbury, Banbury Oxfordshire b1885(?) and d in Coventry 1955. I am anxious to find a true birth date as his father ALFRED ELLIOTT supposedly died in 1883(??). These dates according to ANcestry.co.uk. His mother - SARAH A ELLIOTT remarried to CHAS (or CHARLES) LOVESAY but I cannot find any record of this marriage at all.
I'd be most obliged if anyne can help.

Looks like he was registered as Horace Thomas if this is him??

As Alfred's death was in the June quarter of 1883, I think there is zero chance of him being Horace Thomas's father unless she had the longest pregnancy ever (of approx 1 year and 9 months, at the least!!)

Thanks Cat I had already come to the conclusion that Alfred couldn't be Horace 's father and the date of the marriage to Chas Lovesay rules him out. Horace appears on the 1891 census as a 5yo stepson of Chas.Looks like Sarah was being naughty.lol
Thanks for the info on marriage date I didn't have that.

There can't be too many Horace T Elliotts can there?
How about this from the local paper in 1900?
Jackson's Oxford Journal Saturday, August 11, 1900
GREAT ROLLRIGHT
Accident: Last week a youth named as Horace T Elliott, residing with his brother-in law (Mr. NURDEN), and employed on the Manor farm, was attempting to reach a scythe hanging in a stable at the farm, when the blade fell across the fleshy part of the right arm causing a terrible gash. The wound was bound up and the unfortunate youth was driven to Dr. O’Kelly’s surgery, Chipping Norton, where his injury was attended to by Mr. Whitley, and we are pleased to learn that he is going on very well.

I notice that the 1901 census mentions that H T Elliott was a boarder at this farm, but not his relationship with Mr. Nurden. Nurden has married Harriet Elliott, Horace's sister. (from 1891 census) By the way who is the grand daughter Sarah B Hayward of Brackley?
