Can anyone help me please
On the 1871 census
Frances Smith 32 born Cerne Abbas
Can anyone find her maiden name for me .

1861 Census
John Smith head married 22 Ag lab born Sydling.
Fanny ( Frances?) Smith wife 22 born Cerne Abbas.
I don't know where they were married.

Well i have looked on free bmd and i have looked on Ancestry but i can not find them. Mind you it couldn't be a worse name to look for as there are hundreds of John Smiths but i couldn't even find any John Smiths in Dorset married around that time. I could find a John Smith married to a Frances but it was it was far to early to be him as he would of been too young. Nightmare. I will let you know if i come up with anything else on him.

You could try the OPC for Sydling, http://www.dorset-opc.com/SydlingStNicholas.htm although she has not done the parish transcriptions, there is always a chance the baptisum for the child was done at the church and even the marriage.
I had a look in the 1851 index for Frances and Fanny, born Cerne aged about 12 the only one which was close was

As you can see there is a good chance the Fathers name is Alfred, and the mother was born in Sydling
