HI ROSIE;
Thanks very much for your help & info from '1841 Census'
Wondering if there is anyone out there who can look up '1851 Census' for me, I would like to know if possible he was still in the "London" area before I start looking for him in "USA" I have found quite a lot of ancestors in 'New York City' who emmigrated mid 1850's,, name spelling is the same and all were born in Ireland,,,,, appreciate any help, thanks,,,
Kind regards; Janey;

Hi
I don't have access to the 1851 census but if you put William Hedefont into a census search engine you will be able to see if they have any possible matches by clicking each year census match at the side of the result 1851 shows a William Headfond c1821 living Middlesex. Perhaps someone with access could search this for you

Thanks Rosie,,, I wonder if that is "William' on the 1851 Census though the age is out a bit "1817-1821" and small spelling in name difference,,however I have learned to take all those things in stride with this research for ancestors,,,,
Maybe someone will help with the census and solve the mystery, appreciate your help as is thanks,,,
Kind regards; Janey;

Hi Valda;
Many thanks for the info,appreciate it very much, My info had a 'William' (b) Ire 1817 but likely the wrong guy, I think I will stick with this one looks like he is from Somerset, back to the drawing-board.
Kind regards; Janey;

Hi
The William you found in 1841 census and I gave details for stated not born in County, it was Ann Howard the next person on the census who was born in Ireland

HI VALDA;
Thanks a bunch for your effort,, now I have to admit I am confused here,, I think for sure we have two different guy's ,, the one I was and still am very interested in is on 1841 census as "William Hedefont" Occ; "POTMAN" (b) c.1817 not in county,Middlesex,,, When Rosie 99 said she found a 'Wliiam Headfond' c1821,living Middlesex I thought it was the same one just a spelling error, something I find so often with this 'odd-name',,,,
Now I have to go back to the 'POTMAN' as the one , can't see him going from that to 'journeyman-tailor', can you,,,?? My Grt Granfather was 'Samuel Hedefont'(b)1840 Cty Down,Ire, his father was 'James' and his uncles 'Robert,William,John,Hedefont',,,,, This other 'Wm Headfond/Headford' could be a relative with the change in name spelling,,,
Anyway you can find what happened to "William" the Potman' on the 1841 census,,,??? will appreciate very much any help and effort,,,,
Kind regards; Janey;
