Clisbys In Canada - COMPLETED!
« on: Tuesday 15 September 09 23:45 UTC (UK) »

Hi guys,

I don't have full access to Ancestry (hoping to get it as a xmas pressie) so i can't view all the records.

Could someone please lookup Harry CLISBY born 1875 in Tranmere, Cheshire, England.  I have 3 Ancestry hints for him

Canadian Soldiers of WW1

1916 Canada Census of Manitoba, Saskatchewen and Alberta

and the Canadian Passenger Lists 1865- 1935,  although I downloaded a list at http://members.shaw.ca/nanaimo.fhs/V056.pdf but wondered if the Ancestry says any different.

Thanks in advance.

Library and Archives Canada has the WW1 Soldiers database for free at

http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/cef/index-e.html

You can also view his original attestation papers there.

Passenger Lists are on the LAC site as well, since you have the vessel and date of arrival it will help in the search boxes.

Ancestry links right to the original manifest that's on LAC.  It's just that ancestry has it indexed and LAC dosn't.
