Jenkins and Taylor in Dorset

I am researching Anne Jenkins born abt. 1750, place unknown, parents unknown, who married Thomas Taylor in Gillingham Dorset 14/8/1771. Thomas Taylor was born about 1745, place unknown, parents unknown. The couple had 2 children both born in Gillingham Dorset.  Thomas and Elizabeth. Is there anyone else researching these names also? Would appreciate so much any further information. Many thanks in advance. mygirlbill

Hi,

Have you searched for information on the Dorset OPC site?  It has a wide variety of information.  The record of their marriage on the Gillingham page shows them both to be "otp".   Their banns are also listed showing Thomas to be a widower and Anne single;  both of Gillingham.

Thank-you Nanny for that advice. Was not aware that Thomas was a widower and was able to find out details of his first marriage to Elizabeth Hatch who unfortunately died 3 months after they were married. It all helps!! Was not able to find a date of death for Anne Jenkins though who appears to have remarried to a John Gauler/Gaulter. Many, many thanks for your help. Much appreciated. mygirlbill
