Smellie/Smillie Mearns

I am searching for information on a Margaret Smellie/Smillie and parents. She was born according to censuses 1851-1901 in Mearns refrewshire.  She married Thomas Chambers Pollock 30 May 1847 St Quivox and died 12 Mar 1910. Her death certificate gives her parents as William Smellie Farmer and mother Margaret Smellie (no maiden name).  I can find no record on oprs for a margaret smellie born in mearns of William and margaret but there is a Margaret Smellie daughter of William Smellie and Agnes Wilson around the right date.

I can find no record of her at all in respect of the 1841 census or her parents or any other details it is almost as if she landed in St Quivox aged 24 to marry Thomas Pollock.  Has anyone any ideas as to where to search next Huh
