Muir Family
« on: Friday 18 September 09 02:19 UTC (UK) »

My ancestors came over from Ireland after 1851 and settled in and around Monifieth.  I have had some success in locating information on them.  My Grandfather Francis Burdon Muir was born in 1901 in Dundee to James Eassie Muir (1866) and Eliza Prain Small (1872).  My Grandfather immigrated to Canada and for some reason didn't seem to keep in touch with his family.  My Grandfather had four siblings of which I only know the names of two.  Annie Nicoll (married Robert Dargie 1921) and Campbell Muir.
Going back further James Eassie was the son of Samuel Muir (1836 Kilkeel, Ireland) and Ann Nicol (1832 Newbigging, Angus).  I have made plans to visit Scotland next year and would love very much to make contact with my relatives.  I realize that my Aunts and Uncles have probably passed on, but I'm sure there must be cousins in the area.

Thanks for your help;
