Nicholas JOHNSTON (again)
« on: Friday 18 September 09 17:39 UTC (UK) »

Having spent several years trying to track down anything on Nicholas Johnston, Ancestry, today, came up trumps and I now have his death date and his marriage.

From his death date in 1830, he died at the age of 43 so that therefore puts him born around 1787.  He died in the St Marylebone area at Edgware Road.

Please, if anyone is going to the record office which covers this area, would you be able to look for his birth around 1787 and perhaps 2 years either side if he does not pop up in that year.

I know that a little while ago a lady helped me, but I can't find her messages.

This is such a huge breakthrough of my 15+ year brick wall on Nicholas, I would be most grateful if someone could find his birth for me.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Jan

The unindexed registers for St James (Sussex Gardens) Paddington, St Mary's Paddington Green and St Marylebone are also on the site, images only.

They're under London, England, Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1812, select Westminster and then go from there.

No index means you have to trawl through all the pages.

Otherwiise the other Marylebone/Paddington registers are at the City of Westminster Archives, but they are not part of the LMA project as they are not a part of the City of London Archives.
