New kennells - stannington

Hi

Can anyone tell me anything about New Kennells in Stannington? 

My g-grandfather Robert Kirkup bn 1882 lived there in 1891 (RG12; Piece: 4240; Folio 73; Page 13) but I cant seem to find out anything about the area.  Would this have been a farm?

on an old map its called New Dog Kennels,so maybe its where the Ridley's of nearby Blagdon Hall kept a pack of hounds ??
