Hi,

The 1881 census has Absalom and Martha living in South Stoneham.

Absalom is shown as 43 and born in Purbeck, Dorset and Martha as 51 and born in Poole;  I think it unlikely that they had any children.

RG11   1219/85     7

Have you looked for them in 1891 census just in case their ages have been mistranscribed?  I only have access to 1881 transcription.

Absalom Hood   JunQ   1900  Christchurch   2b  449     (age  63)         

Martha Dawson Hood   JunQ  1904   Christchurch  2b  416     (age  80)
