Does anyone visit Tower Hamlets Library who could look up an 1819 baptism in the Church book below for me please?
The exact date isn't known unfortunately, but according to German records,
Friedrich Ludwig SCHADE was born 1819 "in London"
father: Johann Heinrich Anton "Henry" SCHADE, born at Essel (Hannover) in 1781 was a soldier of the King's German Legion from 1803 to 1815 discharged aged 33 as per Chelsea Pension records.
Mother: Sara COKRAM in England and according to excellent German death record she died in Essel, Germany 1861 and her birthdate must be 6th March 1787 but of course English baptisms could be any day/month/years afterwards.
The next record of the Schade family is there is another child born in Essel, Germany in 1822 then another in Essel in 1826.
Volume 1a London German Churches (at Tower Hamlets Library) St George, Alie Street German Lutheran Church Baptisms 1763-1895
Haven't yet discovered marriage of parents.
Thanking you in anticipation.
Cheers, Rena

thank you for responding Valda but I already know that. A few years back I contacted the anglo german socy to ask for a quotation but didn't get a response.
This time I'm asking for the baptism look up behalf of a German living on the European mainland and if I'm reading all the information on various websites correctly, the volume I'm enquiring about is in the Tower Hamlets library. You've probably already seen that there are another two volumes in 2 other libraries that are still in existence for the year 1819.
I live in northern England and know nothing about London, except it's massive & would cost a fortune to get professional assistance, hence my appeal in this initial stage.
Thanks again, Cheers, Rena
