Genuki is a brilliant site for this sort of information.  Beverley appears to be your answer.

Hi

I would like to know the parents of Rosana Simpson. She is visible in the 1891 census living with her Grandmother, born around 1889, I think in Cayton

>The 1891 census records Mary Simpson at 5 Town Street, Cayton.
>Mary Simpson head wid  45yrs laundress born Atwick
>John Simpson  son   12yrs scholar Cayton
>Eliza Simpson dau   8yrs scholar Cayton
>William Simpson son   6yrs scholar Cayton
>Rosana Simpson grand daughter 2yrs   Cayton

In addition to the 3 children shown in the census, Mary also had 5 older girls, who had left home. Whether there is also a son that I do not know of or perhaps Rosana was born out of wedlock to one of the older girls

hello pat,
i usually go to the library on a friday morning, but this morning i couldnt get a reader booked as they were both taken.
i have one booked for next friday and so will have a look at the records for cayton then.
just as a point of interest there is a rosina simpson born scarborough district registered march quarter 1889 which would fit with the rosana that you are looking for. (rootsweb.com free bdm)
you could if you are desperate send for a certificate then the mistery would be solved once and for all, but if i were you i would wait a week until i have looked at the film then decide!
cayton is the sister parish to may own, we are cayton with eastfield, cayton is about just over a mile away from where i live.
i know it quite well.
well until next week.
regards
