I can't see any children's births showing under Westscott - mother's maiden name Thani*, after the marriage year. Do you know what happened to the couple after their marriage Peter?

How far is it to Bethlehem?

Do you have/need info about Alice's parents?
Marriages Sep 1889 MACNAMARA Margaret THAUISCH Alfred Richmond, S 2a 629
I haven't spotted Alfred's birth registration, and he's not with parents in 1881. (Alfred THAMSCH - tea sampler)

Hi Monica, You asked what happened to the couple? Well the story is as follows. Alice married Ernest Westcott who being unfit for military service was conscripted from Devon to work in Londons Docks. The family story is that she died in the Flue pandemic shortly after they married, it is also thought there were no children. Ernest returned to Devon and remarried. After his death and subsequent burial in 1960 his widow found the wedding vail of Alice and regretted that she had been unable to place it in his coffin. Ernest (my grandfather) still has a living daughter.

Hi Teamwestcott
Welcome to RootsChat
What a poignant story. Your grandmother sounds like she was a fine woman.
