Hi All,

A look up please for these baptisms:

Mary Fernie b1819 in St. Andrew, Holborn father William Fernie.

Here's hoping.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

Hi

Nothing easily showing but if it helps

William Fernie married Frances Pattison on 5th January 1840 at St James Clerkenwell. He was a tailor and his father William was a tailor. A William Fernie signed as a witness. Both William and Frances were of 32 Arlington Street. William and Frances baptised two daughters at St Andrew Holborn.

At the St James Clerkenwell a Charlotte Fernie aged 48 was buried on 15th August 1838 of Arlington Street.

A William Fernie widower married a Charlotte Cussans spinster by banns at St James Clerkenwell 16th January 1836.

What place of birth does Mary give on the censuses?

Regards

Thanks Valda,

I think this William is Mary's brother but I have no firm evidence. I've found him with a wife Fanny so thanks for the Frances Pattison connection. That sounds like a hit.

I'll see if the others fit in.

Mary records herself fairly consistently born in Holborn, and once in St Andrew's Holborn.

Keep a lookout for children of Ebenezer Fernie, I have confirmed that this is the wrong family.
