Hi Everyone,
I was wondering if someone could have a look and find for me a "Joseph Thomas Barnes" who was born in in 1842 in Stock Essex.
His wife name was Mary and she was born in Maryleborn and her age would be approx 44 on the 1891 census.
Their youngest daughter Jessica Jane Barnes was born in 1880 in Shefield Essex.

Hi Suzard,
Thankyou very much for all the wonderful information that you have given me on Joseph T barnes and his family.
I have found it most interesting since there are a few mistakes in it. For example Joseph T Barnes born Stock is corrert but they have written down Sussex which is wrong and his children Albert and Jessica were both born in Essex not in Dover.
I haven't found anything like that before, but hey at lest its the right family. Thanks again for all your help.

Errors re p.o.b. (and often age) are quite common on the census -sometimes through mistranscriptions and other times (we presime) through incorrect information eing given to the enumerator.
On the 1891 census there is a mark over the age of Sarah J so I have had to put what (looks like ) the age.
I did wonder f Sarah J was b Dover and she had given similar information for the oldest children - but that is just a guess.
Did Joseph Thomas barnes die before 1901? I couldn't find him on 1901 census

Hi Suzard,
I couldn't find Joseph Thomas Barnes death but someone else from Rootschat did. Apparently he did in 1896 in Islington age 54.
Now I am going to try and find where these Barnes's are buried, so wish me luck.
