Hi There,
I am not sure if this is known or not but when you request a record from Archives you can now pay online.
First you need to put your request into the office that hold the Probate(will) divorce file etc and then they will email you with a reference number that need to be put on the online form before you reach the page for your credit card number etc.
Apparently this is something new and they are having a few problems with it so I found out today.
I have been told that The Wellington Office IT people are working on it.
This makes things so much easier now

Last time I used them, I spoke to a human quoting my credit card details and from what I understood at that time, it was a safeguard of not having to put the details on line.
Things must have changed.

I think I should have said it is a secure on-line payment
I have only ever emailed mine once and will never do that again now.
I emailed them last week about getting a divorce file for 1938 and only got a reply back today with the ref number and the link to use as well.
I have now asked for a ref number for a second divorce fileI am crossing fingers that they contain a marriage certificate in them as well

Archives New Zealand now offers an online credit card payment system to researchers to pay for copies of records supplied. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Bankcard only. To use this service you must first obtain a request number from Archives New Zealand for each separate enquiry.

Hi to you both !
Oh dear, umm, I've so many NZ forebears, umm I will be saving up some pennies for my plastic card now ! I like the pause in the process to give that extra touch to plastic security issues.
Now back to my NZ wish list..... umm, John and Mary SMITH .... actually I've got NZ links back through 3 of my 4 grandparents lines....

Good to hear that they now have an on- line payment system, will be so much easier when ordering from them, do all my NZ BDM this way so about time Archives jumped on board. All my greatgrandparents arrived in NZ so there still lots of info I still need back home.
