I am trying to find information about Theodora Emily Manwaring.
I have just received a copy of my Gt-Gt Aunt's will (Ada Millicent Clifford) and she is named as sole beneficiary and executrix. One of the things she inherited was Ada's house which was called "Rossi"and was in High Street, Tarring. I am trying to work out if she was a family member or a friend.
This is the information I have - in 1943 her address (on the paper accompanying the will) is given as Post Office, 40 South Street, Tarring. She is also given as "Married woman".
I have looked on Ancestry and found her death in Worthing in 1985, and her birth as 1892.
And that is all I know ...... I have tried to find a Manwaring who married a Theodora Emily, both on FreeBMD and Ancestry, but no luck.
I would be very grateful for any help - if she was married she might have had children/grandchildren who could maybe have photos of Ada - or even have heard stories about her.

Well - I'm obviously doing something wrong on Freebmd  I put Manwaring in the first surname box, Theodora in the spouse's first name box, clicked marriage, no dates at all - and all it tells me is "Sorry nothing!!". I have just tried again putting the same info, with the dates 1914 to 1916 and it still doesn't come up with anything....... strange! It only comes up with something when I put in all the information (maiden name etc) that you have given me.
Anyway - thank you VERY much for finding this information for me. I shall now be able to get further. I think that Theodora was probably a friend, but I shall work through my tree just in case! Ada Clifford was a 'maiden aunt" ... never married.

ps :I think I have found three daughters on freebmd, all born E Preston from 1918 to 1925.

This is because of a FreeBMD indexing/transcription error, which means that Theodora and her husband don't both appear on the same results page. The correct page number in the reference should be 706 (as per William's entry), not 705 (as per Theodora's).
