Missing family from Birmingham..

Hello folks,

I have a missing family from Birmingham.....this is them on the 1881

9 Ct 6 House Newtown Row.
JAMES MINCHIN, 26, Brassworker b B'ham
SARAH MINCHIN, 22, wife,   b Coventry
FLORENCE. A. MINCHIN, 3, b B'ham

No other trace of them at all...SO....did they emigrate ?? I would appreciate any help with finding them....Please !!!

All i found was
FLORENCE A MINCHIN  servant age 22 living at the home of samuel downing
in sutton road have a look on freecen 1891

Hello Astwood, thanks for this info...BUT...Florence A would only be 13 in 1891 so maybe this is not the correct one. I do appreciate you taking the trouble to help find this family.

Have you found James on the 1861 and 1871 censuses with his parents living Aston, Birmingham? I see that they were trancscribed as Menchen on the 1871 census. If you are missing either of these I can send details.

I have looked and can't find any of them after 1881 either. There are Minchins in passenger lists and other records for Australia, Canada and USA, but none of these are anywhere near a match for your George, Sarah or Florence A Mitchin.

Perhaps someone else will have better luck. Hope you find them.

Thank you Angela..I do have him on all census's when he is with his parents...it is after his marriage that he does a disappearing act. Thanks again.  Margaret.
