William Lightfoot b 1815 East Keal

Was William the son of Samuel Lightfoot b 1788 Coningsby, and the eldest brother of John Lightfoot b 1832 Toynton St. Peter. I found them as near neighbours at Kirton Fen, Boston in the 1871 census, but there is of course no indication of a relationship.What makes me think there was a relationship is that Samuel married at East Keal in 1814, wife Sarah Gooderson

I suppose your problem is that William was apparently baptised as LIGHTFOOT about 2 months before Sam married Sarah.

I think this is the marriage that will help you-

9 June 1846 at Sibsey
William LIGHTFOOT (son of Samuel) to Elizabeth DICKINSON (wid) dau of Robert SMALLEY)

Didn't know about that Geoff, thanks very much. Just found the two living close to one another in the 1871 census at Kirton Fen, and thought the East Keal birthplace rings a bell. Will certainly check out the site you mention.
