Hello all, Elizabeth Donaldson is my Gt Grandmother and she was born in Rathven in 1835. She was the daughter of James Donaldson born 1805 Portknockie who was a master tailo and a clerk to the Seamens Society and his wife Isabella Forbes born 1811 Portknockie who was a dressmaker. She married my Gt Grandfather Alexander Mackay in Aberdeen in 1859. I know quite a lot of their history after she left Banffshire but would like to know more about her life in that county.  I would also like to hear from any descendents of the family. and I am desperately seeking relevant photographs.
