The Mead name in the area is quite widespread however there is a William and Ann MEAD in Cheddington who baptise an Sarah in 1769 a Thos in 1771 and then a big gap to 1777 with Hannah.
I have Hedges & Lambourne in Cheddington who every couple of years trot down the road to Marston. It maybe worth checking the submitted entry for a baptism in 1779 up in Mentmore..... mine go there as well.

Hi Simon.
Bucksfhs will do a check on the name & date for a fee I did that looking for one of my missing Walker births from around the same date.
You may get hits in the areas of Stewkley and Wing as the name features there as well ......... not far if you go through the old Wing Park road.
Herts also have some similar service but I cannot remember if Marston came up when I asked.
How far are you from Aylesbury now? Bletchley Park are hosting a family history day so I will be able to visit that. I rarely get over to Aylesbury now...parking a nightmare.

Ok ...... well I am in sunny ( well today anyway) Milton Keynes.
Can you wait until 22 Nov and when I go I will get a list of Any William baptisms that they hold for around that date.
Herts were there last time so will do that one as well if you like.
Someone on here has some Mentmore PR's so maybe a seperate request om Bucks board with a link to this one may get some interest.
The Punters travelled so any shot in the dark is worth a look.

Popped to Bletchley Park on Sunday....... stinking head cold that why only posting now.
Ok.... Bucks fhs were not there so could not get a blanket search on the William Mead's that were around at that time also that knocked on the head the ones I wanted as well.
Herts fhs did not have Tring or Long Marston records they are at Hals. So it would mean a trip there but further out for me. Dont think the turn out was as high as the last one I went to there it was very quiet. Bit disapointed as I was going to buy some more Bucks records to crack a stubbling block on one of my lines.
