Re your original question regarding schools in Inverness. I would try asking the The Highland Council's Genealogy Service.

http://www.highland.gov.uk/leisureandtourism/what-to-see/familyhistory/

Now according to their website they are relocating at present but up and running again as  of 26th October.  I've not used them but I've heard (on this site) that they are very helpful. I'm sure they could tell you how and  where you can search school rolls if you can.

Well I can't speak for them all but The Boa's I knew (30 years ago!) were all very friendly.

hi fiona i'm a great grand-daughter of John and Barbara Boa of Longard, Glen Cannich - one of their sons was my grandfather and there is a cousin who may have heard something about your grandmother .what exactly is it you are looking for   Smiley

hi again fiona have since been in touch with cousin and he does have some info i think/hope would be of interest to you - he's happy to speak to you - he doesn't 'do' the internet as he's a bit older than me...!  as i'm new to all this not sure how best to proceed?
