A 1911 census puts a "Where born" address for the children of one of my families as --

Lupton Bryan Bedfordshire--

I'd never come across a Lupton Bryan and nothing came up with various 'Googling' attempts, can any Bedforshire Rootschatter hazard a guess for me if it has been mis-transcribed please  Smiley

Thanks for replying tazzie --your guess is a possible i reckon-- i tried looking for the family in the 1901 to see what was put as an address in that census but cant find them--Edward Ridlington b 1867 Spalding lincs.& wife Edith and just the one child back then which certainly doesn't help as the 1911 has the childs name as --Eroni Cecil [new one on me or else a wrong transcription again Huh]  poli

The family are in Leighton Buzzard in 1901.  Ancestry has them indexed as Rodlington.
(RG13/1508  Folio 78  Page 19)

The boy is Erwin Cecil.  The birthplace Leighton Buzzard.

  Well that looks good then . Being born in Leighton Buzzard myself, Milton Bryan would be the one. Could show as Woburn in some cases but Leighton is the largest town.

 I think "Lupton Bryan" will be a misreading of "Leighton Buzzard" rather than "Milton Bryan", because if Erwin had been born in Milton Bryan, his birth should have been registered in Woburn District, not Leighton Buzzard District.
