is it possible i can have a 1901 census lookup for Phoebe Ann Hickman,born 1874 Dowles Shropshire,I have searched for years for her,she died in Exeter in 1902 aged 28,i cant understand why she was so far from her home when she died,the family were in Monmouthshire and Warrington.

Hello Joyce and Jacques,
following from that 1901 entry, I have seen her in 1881 with her parents so as that 1901 entry is married- it won't be her... I suppose.

Do you have the death certificate from 1902 Joyce- is it definitely her?
What is her occupation?
Who was the informant?

Thank-you Jaques and Heywood,
                   no this is not her in the census,she never married,have her memorial card,I know she was born in 1874,she was my dads sister,(he had me late in life)she died in 1902 aged 28,so it would surely be to much of a co-incidence for two Phoebe Hickmans,the same age to die in 1902 in the December 1/4,the only one that fits this is in Exeter if she had been older then yes but she was only 28,buried in Monmouthshire,I am sending for death certificate on Monday but have searched and searched but cant find her in 1901,in 1891 she is in Shobdon Heredforshire aged 17,in find my past,the name is incorrectly put as Richman,father William,Gas worker,mother Phoebe.she is a mystery,I,d love to know what she was doing in 1901 and where she was.her memorial card says she died December 28th.

Hello Joyce,
yes I saw her with her family- as Hickman in Anc. and as I said, realised that the married Phoebe wasn't her.
The death certificate will hopefully reveal some clues to explain her death circumstances- a young age is very sad.

just found this- you may want to check it - Rockbeare Devon (near to Exeter)
1901  RG13; Piece: 2031; Folio: 6; Page: 4

Annie Hickman 27 yrs a servant born Bewdley Worcestershire

One member of William and Phoebe's family has that as birthplace in 1901 Monmouthshire and I noticed that sometimes Dowles has been classed as Worces. and Shropshire. Not sure if they have an Annie in the family.
Just chcked back to 1891- no Annie and of course realised that she is Phoebe Ann - perhaps she was known as Annie because of mum, Phoebe  Cheesy

            in Find my past cant look by census numbers,and Annie Hickman born 1874 Bewdley,dose,nt come up,is it possible you could give me the address,so i can do a address search,as other members of my family were put under Richman instead of Hickman,only found by searching address.

She is at The Grange Rockbeare in the employ of Mary E Rumsey and her family.

              What i should have mentioned is that my Auntie Leah born 1877 and Uncle John are sometimes listed as being born in Bewdley.

Yes that's what I saw so it adds to the evidence, I think.

Put it this way, up to now- she's the favourite - hopefully the death certificate will confirm - trouble is, if she is a servant, she could have moved on. Please post the results- it's always good to see if something turns out.
