Hi Tracey
Stonehaven was in Fetteresso, I think.
I've just done a search on Milne, Will* 1870-1880 and there are two births in Fetteresso - 1873 and 1878. I'm not clear from your message when he wasborn - was it 1873 or 1880-1890?

The 1881 census shows a William Milne b 1874 Stonehaven, Kincardineshire. He's the son of John Milne, soda water manufacturer & his wife Ann, living at Arbuthnott St, Bridgefield - the "lemonade factory " that was still there in the 1950s/60s.
I think that part of the town may be in Dunnottar parish - it's the area at the mouth of the R. Carron, and near Dunnottar school etc.

Took a risk - the 1873 in Fetteresso is the same one that you've found on the census , Isobel
Born Bridgefield, Stonehaven, Parish of Fetteresso on 31 July 1873
John was a brewer of ginger beer.

William Blackbird

I was in such a tizz that I didn`t make much sense there !!!
And some visitors have arrived at our house and I am at this very minute trying to push them out of the door nicely
On the 1911 census, it says William Milne, 38, occupation cartman general, born Stonehaven.
He is living with his family in the North East of England.
So I assumed he was born in 1873. When I searched for a birth for him on SP, I put in Kincardine as county of birth, and searched between 1870 - 1880. There were no records for that search but when I tried Aberdeen Kincardine there were 6 records.
I`ll be back when I have supplied biscuits and tea to my visitors (I`m hiding in the bedroom with my computer )

Hi Tracey
I'm not sure how you did the search but you'll see that I put in Milne, Will, Kincardine and 1870 to 1880 and got up a list of 24 birth registrations.
I've sent the cert
