Free upgrade again ???

Has anyone heard or seen that we are to be offered a free upgrade to Family Tree Maker 2010 as we were for FTM 2009 from the 2008 edition from Ancestry?

V10 is a new program, there will be no free upgrade. The only reason some people got a free upgrade from 8 to 9 was because the V8 issue was a cock up so if you registered V8 they gave a limited time offer to get V9 free if you had registered V8.

I don't believe that there will be a free upgrade but in the 'Family Tree Maker 2010 New Features Demo' webinar broadcast at 8pm ET on 30th September one of the questions asked was would there be any discounted upgrade prices for existing users. The response was that Ancestry was intending to offer upgrade pricing at a discount of 30%. Offer would be notified by an email.

I presume the offer would be to registered users however there were no details as to when this might be available.

An archived copy of the webinar can be found at http://learn.ancestry.com/LearnMore/Webinars.aspx. You will need to register to view the webinar. The discussion around upgrade pricing is about 33 mins into the presentation.
