eliezer gilmore/gilmour hull
« on: Sunday 06 March 05 12:10 UTC (UK) »

I am tracing my scottish roots and find my paternal grandmother has her roots in hull. I have an eliezer gilmour (or eleazar gilmour -many spellings of this!) baptised in holy trinity church  11 June 1848. Born in the Myton area of hull i think . His father was eliezer also and went on to marry anna/hannah baxter in hull i think also.

I would be obliged for any leads or ideas of where to go next as i have hit a dead end. It seems to be a lot harder to search for records outside scotland.

thanks

Hi Alison.

http://yorkshirebmd.org.uk  has the following birth entry

Eleazer Gilmore born sub district of Myton in 1848 ref no.
MYT/16/226

You could apply to the Hull resgistrars office for a birth cert using the above reference number if you haven't already got it.
The Hull office usually sends certificates by return of post.

good luck
