We are currently looking into my husband's family history. We know his grandparent's were william John Lightbody, born Belfast 1869 and Ellen Elizabeth Ward, born Leicester 1872. However, we are unable to trace John's father - according to William and Ellen's marriage record (1891), he was named William Lightbody and he was an engineer. We have no idea of his wife's name or any birth or death dates, only that he lived in Belfast. This is a tough one I know, but could anyone help as i have been searching for months and only hit on a brick wall?

Hi,
A little more. IGI gives two other children of this couple,
Hugh Lightbody, born 27 Sept 1866 in Bangor Co. Down
James Lightbody, born 3 Dec 1874 in Ireland
Emerald Ancestors lists a marriage of John Lightbody to Nancy McMullan (sic) in Ballygrainey Presbyterian Church, Bangor Co.Down on 14 May 1855.
