Im looking for help finding  my grandfathers death.

WALTER OAKS b. 1885 PECKHAM, CAMBERWELL, SURREY
he died between 1940-1960 and is buried in RAMSGATE KENT.

Freebmd transcriptions do not cover that period  http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/progressD.shtml

You will need to search the full GRO index  which is available at your nearest main library.  It can also be searched online if you have an Ancestry or FMP subscription 

It involves downloading the images for every quarter of every year and checking for an entry - very time consuming without more info

Perhaps a family member could narrow down the period for you
